This publication is the collaborative effort of Emma Liu, Grace Osborne, Becca Atkinson, Jordan Quigley, and Kaelin O'Hare. It concerns the current refugee crisis, examining the work of the Norwich International Youth Project, a British organization, working to support young asylum seekers and refugees in Norwich. The book's imagery results from drawing workshops held with refugee youth from the organization, as well as visual responses from the public. The imagery responds to Norwich as a home, and ideas about integration.
Created in Spring 2017, using pen, charcoal, bookbinding, and Photoshop and InDesign.
An ongoing collaboration between Kirsty O'Rourke, Gabbi Minas, and Kaelin O'Hare, begun in the summer of 2016.
Consisting of a series of handmade postcards sent each month of the summer, this project challenges the postcard format and the international mail system, while illustrating an aspect of each collaborators' lives and thoughts over each month.
The postcards pictured above are those of Kaelin O'Hare, made using collage, watercolor, hand-dyed paper, colored pencil, pen, embroidery, and a handkerchief.
